A: The decision to have surgery should only be made after discussion with your surgeon. The decision is yours and should not be made in a rush. Make the decision only when you are satisfied with the information you have received and believe you have been well informed.

Our surgeons will always outline possible side effects or complications of a surgical procedure. It is important that you have enough information about possible complications to fully weigh up the benefits and risks of surgery.
Q: How long will I be in hospital if I have surgery?
A: Recovery takes time and depends on the type of surgical procedure that you have had. Some patients will be able to go home on the same day that the surgery is performed while others will need to stay in hospital overnight. For patients that are having large or more complicated procedures a 7 to 10 day stay may be necessary.
